Society as a whole has assigned the polite misnomer of “habit” to the use of tobacco; however, the proper term is “addiction”. No ifs-ands-or-buts, if you are a tobacco user, you are a drug addict, just as I was for 33 years. Not only was I a smoker and a nicotine addict, but I was fairly obnoxious about my smoking. I belonged to “smokers’ rights” organizations and ranted and raved to other smokers about the attempted social engineering of anti-smoking groups.Like Saul on the road to Damascus, I knew who I was, what I was doing and where I was going.
Also like Saul, something unexpected happened to me as I traveled down my own “road to Damascus”. Unlike Saul, there was no great flash of light, nor was I blinded, but the result was the same.
In His own quiet and gentle way, the Lord spoke to me. He provided me with a way to break the back of an addiction that had held me in bondage for over 33 years. There is absolutely no question in my mind that the Armor Of God Stop Smoking Method was divinely inspired. Stand firm then, with the BELT OF TRUTH buckled around your waist, with the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS in place, and with your FEET FITTED with the readiness that comes from the GOSPEL OF PEACE. In addition to all this, take up the SHIELD OF FAITH, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the HELMET OF SALVATION and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God. And PRAY IN THE SPIRIT on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.' Not that it means you won’t make it if you don’t isolate yourself, but it means you just really focus on YOU and nothing else. I think that would be fantastic.
